*Social media strategy with Renee Ainslie, the public relations and marketing manager at iFly Virginia Beach.
iFly Virginia Beach had 32,000 flyers in 2015, its first year in business. Before the facility opened in 2015, the company had 2000 followers on Facebook. That number has grown to 7500.
“Social media in general, specifically Facebook, is such a powerful outlet. It allows us to engage with people. It’s not just outbound marketing. It’s really engaging with customers, finding out what they want.”
“Listen to your customers, listen to what they want. If someone says, “I want to see another video or I want to see a video about this,” we put it up there.”

*Kristen Sill, General Manager of Escape Room Virginia.
When the company opened its first location, not many people had heard of the escape room concept. They turned to video to create awareness and excitement about the brand.
On social media, they would take a picture of people after they completed every room. They would then tag them on social media.
“You will usually listen to your friends and family the most. If your friends and family do something that was super exciting and they share it on their Facebook wall, you’re going to look at it more than you would an advertisement on Facebook.”
Escape rooms are great for team-building for companies.
“It brings a lot of different minds together.”
