One of the most common questions I get is, “How do I start creating videos NOW?“
Once you get past the foundation – the basics of audio, video equipment, and lighting – which I outline in this YouTube video here, then you need to think about what you want to say.
Here are three simple videos you can put together quickly that help your audience understand what you do and how you can help them.
*Behind the Scenes. Think of this as a peek behind the curtain. As consumers, we love to be brought into your world, so take us by the hand and show us what you’re working on through the lens of your iPhone (or Android). You can start with you on camera, or you can just use your voice to pan around your workspace. But just show us something that gives us a better idea of what you do. Maybe you’ll show us the production line, the steps behind your new contactless delivery service, or the set-up of your upcoming virtual art exhibit. Explain what you’re working on and then tell us how we can learn more about your business.
*Interview a beloved client on Zoom. We’re all on Zoom these days, so take some time to record a conversation with a client. Make sure you and your client appear side by side in Zoom, hit record, and start asking questions. Find out why your client came to you, what your product or service did to solve a problem, and then what life is like now for your client. End the interview with a way to learn more about what you offer.
*You – On Camera. You are the expert of your business. Use this opportunity to teach your audience something. Tell us about the most effective ways to decorate your office on a budget, how to make the most of your time at home, why it’s important to get preventive checkups. The ending of this video? Just like the others, you can end each video with ways to learn more about your products and services.
If you are trying to come up with new ways to market your product or service, I encourage you to consider how you can use video to connect with your current client base and attract a new one.
HOW does video fit into your overall video marketing strategy? I delve into that in a four-week online group program, the Video Bootcamp.
